Step-by-Step Guide: How to Register for ZATCA Fatoora Portal

Prerequisites for Registration

Before registering for the Fatoora portal, ensure you have:

  • Active VAT registration with ZATCA
  • Valid Commercial Registration (CR)
  • Authorized signatory credentials
  • E-invoicing compliant software

Step 1: Access the Fatoora Portal

Navigate to the ZATCA Fatoora portal at fatoora.zatca.gov.sa. You can access this through your ZATCA account.

Step 2: Generate CSR (Certificate Signing Request)

Your e-invoicing software must generate a CSR containing:

  • Organization name
  • VAT registration number
  • Branch details (if applicable)
  • Serial number

Step 3: Submit for Compliance CSID

Submit your CSR to ZATCA to receive a Compliance Certificate Security Identifier (CSID). This allows you to test your integration.

Step 4: Complete Compliance Testing

Use the Compliance CSID to submit test invoices. You must successfully submit all required invoice types:

  • Standard tax invoice
  • Simplified tax invoice
  • Credit notes
  • Debit notes

Step 5: Request Production CSID

After passing compliance testing, request your Production CSID. This certificate is used for actual invoice submission.

Step 6: Go Live

With your Production CSID, you can begin submitting real invoices to ZATCA.
